Equilibrium.

The term "Mr Clarke" always uses, yet - no one understands.

Equilibrium is a basic concept with a fancy name, basically. Peoples faces look around in confusion when they hear it.

I take it you know what diffusion is, yes? The random movement of particles from an area of high concentration, to an area of low concentration. This is basically equilibrium, if you understand diffusion then you can easy come to grips with equilibrium.

The definition is "A state in which opposing forces or influences are balanced." This applies to
diffusion. If you have two containers, one with O2 and one with CO2.

As you can see by the poorly drawn image, the O2 and CO2 diffuse into each other until an equilibrium is reached at the bottom (3). The are equaled out as the definition states.

Diffusion is easy; yes. But only at a lower level, higher level transport phenomena are much more complicated.

Equilibrium is a key point to your life, with it - said life would not be here.

To conclude, do you know what equilibrium is now? Its not as easy at very high levels, but for now - this will do. Like stated it is a key element in yours and my life. At least when you hear the word you will now not ponder; just know what the term means.

Thanks for reading - and sorry for the short post - Ben.
