Fibonacci Numbers, The Golden Ratio and Conspiracy!

So you might know of a sequence of numbers called the Fibonacci sequence, this is basically a sequence of numbers by putting the sum of the previous two numbers next in the sequence and continuing this pattern.
Let me Explain ...

By adding the pairs of numbers continuously in this way we get the Fibonacci
Sequence.
An interesting property of these numbers is that after the 13th number in the series, dividing a number with the number before it gives this number:

1.61803399or φ (phi).

Phi is a number with very unusual qualities as it is found all over in nature along with numbers from the Fibonacci sequence ...

One example of these numbers are in nature, lets look at this pine cone - by counting the number of spirals we can see one totals to 13, and the other 8.

Two numbers of the Fibonacci sequence!

Again, after counting the spirals on this sunflower, they add up to 55 and 34 - also numbers of the Fibonacci sequence!

The golden ratio also seems to influence nature ...

Head-Foot/Navel-Foot

When the distance from the navel to the feet and the distance from the head to the feet are measured, the height of the 'ideal human' is equivalent to φ while the navel to feet is equivalent to 1.
This is where it starts to get weird.
The golden ratio and Fibonacci numbers have a huge impact on nature and our lives in general. Not only the height of the human body to the navel-feet are set out like this but also:

-Fingertip-Elbow/Wrist-Elbow
-Navel-Top of Head/Shoulder line-Top of Head
-Navel-Knee/Knee-Foot

It seems like a whole part of nature is measured by this golden ratio, however our architecture, art and music - all huge factors in our lives can involve these numbers.

Spooky right?

Thanks for reading, Chris.
